Brendan Lowry Actor and Singer
Brendan is an actor, singer, and occasional dancer/musician; originally hailing from Colorado. Outside of performing he loves to noodle on his guitars, dabble in photography, and taking walks to look at pretty things. He is in his final year of the Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Playhouse MFA Acting program and has his BFA in Musical Theatre from Colorado Mesa University. Upon graduation he plans to make the most of his remaining time in Cleveland before moving to New York.
Brendan is in Tony award winner-Mary Zimmerman’s production of Our Town at Cleveland Playhouse as part of the ensemble alongside understudying the role of George. Before this, he played Motel in CPH’s historically successful run of Fiddler on the Roof alongside Tony nominee and Broadway Veteran Robert Cuccioli.
"...her scenes with Brendan Lowry as Tzeitel’s childhood friend and love, Motel, are endearing and delightful. The song “Miracle of Miracles” is an upbeat, joyful proclamation of love that feels authentic." - Gwendolyn Kochur, Cleveland Scene
"Lowry is upbeat and lovable as Motel the Tailor, and his energy in “Miracle of Miracles” is contagious." - Sheri Gross, The News Herald
There are rare, quiet, or maybe raucous, moments in the theatre that appear very sparingly, where everyone in the room (both audience and performer) is completely and wholly invested in the experience being shared. There is a common connection to be found in these moments, being shared by everyone in the same room, at the same time. These are the moments that people go talk about after the show, at the bar, at home, or at dinner. Those moments, and the buildup necessary to lead to them are what I like to chase. I seek to help create and nurture these moments with the best work I can offer, at an ever increasing personal standard whilst never sacrificing kindness, humility, and collaboration.
